India Not Missing AI Bus, Says Finance Minister

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that India has not missed the artificial intelligence or quantum computing bus, contrary to some foreign media perceptions. She explained that the absence of many AI companies on Indian stock exchanges does not reflect the true progress of Indian startups, many of which are becoming unicorns. Sitharaman emphasized the need for increased investment in AI infrastructure, quantum computing, and semiconductor manufacturing to accelerate hardware and skills development.

केंद्रीय वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने कहा है कि भारत आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस या क्वांटम कंप्यूटिंग की दौड़ में पीछे नहीं छूटा है, जैसा कि कुछ विदेशी मीडिया में धारणा है। उन्होंने समझाया कि भारतीय स्टॉक एक्सचेंजों पर कई AI कंपनियों का न होना, भारतीय स्टार्टअप्स की असली प्रगति को नहीं दिखाता, जिनमें से कई यूनिकॉर्न बन रहे हैं। सीतारमण ने हार्डवेयर और कौशल विकास में तेजी लाने के लिए AI इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर, क्वांटम कंप्यूटिंग और सेमीकंडक्टर मैन्युफैक्चरिंग में निवेश बढ़ाने की जरूरत पर जोर दिया।
