IMD Forecasts Rain in South India; 17 Tamil Nadu Districts Under Yellow Alert

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rainfall across several southern Indian states, including Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh, on Tuesday, October 20. Thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are also expected in these regions. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for 17 districts in Tamil Nadu, encompassing Chennai and other key areas, which will remain in effect until October 23. Isolated very heavy rainfall is anticipated over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, with wet conditions likely to persist for several days.
