India Cites Kargil War Burials To Counter Pakistan At UN On Funeral Rights
India Today · politics
India has criticized Pakistan at the United Nations, highlighting its refusal to accept bodies of soldiers killed in the 1999 Kargil War. This response came after a UN Special Rapporteur's report raised concerns about alleged denial of funeral rights in Jammu and Kashmir. India stated that Pakistan, which did not claim its fallen soldiers, now speaks on religious freedom and burial rights. India also pointed out the shrinking minority communities and rights abuses in Pakistan, questioning its standing to lecture India.
