Mayem Gram Sabha Demands Stricter Mining NOCs To Curb Environmental Damage

The Mayem gram sabha has passed four resolutions to hold mining companies accountable for environmental damage and losses incurred by villagers. These resolutions aim to significantly strengthen the conditions for issuing no-objection certificates (NOCs) to mining firms and other establishments. Key resolutions include seeking cancellation of existing NOCs before government formalities are completed and appointing an expert to verify compliance with panchayat-imposed conditions. Future NOCs will only be granted if mining companies restore damaged agricultural fields and sensitive environmental areas, with decisions remaining in force even after government formalities.

मायेम ग्राम सभा ने खनन कंपनियों को पर्यावरणीय क्षति और ग्रामीणों को हुए नुकसान के लिए जवाबदेह ठहराने के लिए चार प्रस्ताव पारित किए हैं। इन प्रस्तावों का उद्देश्य खनन फर्मों और अन्य प्रतिष्ठानों को अनापत्ति प्रमाण पत्र (NOC) जारी करने की शर्तों को काफी मजबूत करना है। प्रमुख प्रस्तावों में सरकारी औपचारिकताएं पूरी होने से पहले मौजूदा NOCs को रद्द करने और पंचायत द्वारा लगाई गई शर्तों के अनुपालन को सत्यापित करने के लिए एक विशेषज्ञ नियुक्त करने की मांग शामिल है। भविष्य में NOC केवल तभी जारी किए जाएंगे जब खनन कंपनियां क्षतिग्रस्त कृषि क्षेत्रों और संवेदनशील पर्यावरणीय क्षेत्रों को बहाल करेंगी, और सरकारी औपचारिकताएं पूरी होने के बाद भी निर्णय लागू रहेंगे।
