Manipur is once again experiencing unrest as suspected militants attacked Chassad village in the Kamjong district late night. Around 15 homes belonging to the Kuki community were set ablaze, forcing many residents to flee and seek refuge in forests and an army camp. This incident follows a previous attack where one Kuki civilian was killed and four others were injured by gunfire. The violence has heightened tensions in the state, which had recently seen a return to peace after prolonged ethnic conflict.
