Odisha Governor Orders Nov Deadline for University Faculty Vacancy Recruitment

Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati has directed vice-chancellors of state universities to begin recruitment for 1,450 vacant teaching posts by the first week of November and complete the process by month-end. As of, 2,086 sanctioned posts in 17 public universities had 1,450 vacancies, including professors, associate professors, and assistant professors. The shortage has led universities to rely on guest faculty, with 425 currently engaged. The governor also suggested calling all eligible candidates for interviews to ensure a wider pool for selection and proposed a uniform tenure for VCs.
