Indian Olympic Association Elections Set For December 5

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has announced that its elections for the new Executive Council will take place on December 5. Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, a former Election Commissioner, has been appointed as the returning officer to oversee the entire electoral process. The elected members will serve a four-year term from 2026 to 2030. These elections are being conducted in accordance with the National Sports Governance Act and its associated rules. The IOA aims for strong governance and an athlete-centric approach as India aspires to host the 2036 Olympic Games.

भारतीय ओलंपिक संघ (IOA) ने घोषणा की है कि नई एग्जीक्यूटिव काउंसिल के लिए उसके चुनाव 5 दिसंबर को होंगे। पूर्व चुनाव आयुक्त संजय कुमार श्रीवास्तव को पूरी चुनावी प्रक्रिया की देखरेख के लिए रिटर्निंग ऑफिसर नियुक्त किया गया है। चुने गए सदस्य 2026 से 2030 तक चार साल के कार्यकाल के लिए काम करेंगे। ये चुनाव राष्ट्रीय खेल शासन अधिनियम और इसके संबंधित नियमों के अनुसार आयोजित किए जा रहे हैं। IOA का लक्ष्य मजबूत शासन और एथलीट-केंद्रित दृष्टिकोण है, क्योंकि भारत 2036 ओलंपिक खेलों की मेजबानी का लक्ष्य रखता है।
