Times of India · business

India's gross gem and jewellery exports experienced a significant year-on-year increase of 9.4%, reaching $3 billion in September. This growth was primarily driven by strong performance in gold jewellery and polished lab-grown diamonds. For the April-September period, total exports rose 3.1% to $14.3 billion. Gold jewellery exports, including plain and studded varieties, saw an 11.4% jump. The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) noted improved market access and lower US tariffs as contributing factors to this positive trend.

Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC)
