Prohibitory Orders Imposed in Kiphire After Community Clashes

The district administration has imposed prohibitory orders in Pungro sub-division, excluding Khongsa block but including Kiusam circle, following violence between the Yimkhiung and Tikhir communities. One person was reportedly killed and several houses were set on fire during clashes on Saturday. The order prohibits gatherings of five or more people, carrying weapons, and organising confrontational meetings without permission. The administration urged residents to exercise restraint and avoid actions that could trigger further confrontation, warning that violations would invite legal action.

जिले के प्रशासन ने यिमखियुंग और तिखिर समुदायों के बीच हिंसा के बाद खोंगसा ब्लॉक को छोड़कर कियुसम सर्कल सहित पुंग्रो उप-मंडल में निषेधाज्ञा लागू कर दी है। शनिवार को हुई झड़पों में कथित तौर पर एक व्यक्ति की मौत हो गई और कई घरों में आग लगा दी गई। आदेश में पांच या अधिक लोगों के इकट्ठा होने, हथियार ले जाने और बिना अनुमति के टकराव वाली बैठकें आयोजित करने पर रोक लगाई गई है। प्रशासन ने निवासियों से संयम बरतने और आगे टकराव को भड़काने वाली कार्रवाइयों से बचने का आग्रह किया है, साथ ही चेतावनी दी है कि उल्लंघन करने पर कानूनी कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
