Bengaluru's BMTC is planning to introduce 200 mini-buses to improve last-mile connectivity for Namma Metro commuters. The state government has approved the plan, which includes procuring 100 seven-metre and 100 nine-metre diesel buses funded by the government. These buses will navigate narrow roads and serve residential areas, enhancing access to metro stations. BMTC is also exploring an automatic fare collection system on select routes, though conductors will remain common. The initiative aims to address the challenge of reaching metro stations as the network expands.
