Hacker Claims Denmark National Registry Breached Using '123456' Password
Times of India · technology
A hacker has claimed responsibility for breaching Denmark's national identity database, the Central Register of Persons (CPR), using the widely warned-against password '123456'. The intrusion, which exposed records of approximately 8.8 million people, was reportedly carried out via an external IT contractor's compromised corporate account. The hacker stated they have no intention of leaking or selling the accessed citizen information. Danish officials confirmed the breach on October 5, with the unauthorized access occurring between September 10 and September 20, and going undetected until early October.
