UP Police Officers Warned Against Misbehaving With Govt Lawyers

The Allahabad High Court has directed the Uttar Pradesh DGP to issue a circular stating that misbehaving with government advocates serving court orders is contempt of court. The directive came after a public relations officer to the Azamgarh SSP misbehaved with an additional government advocate. The court ordered the PRO to be held in custody until 5 pm. The bench emphasized that AGAs are court officers and disrespecting them constitutes contempt. The SSP informed the court that the PRO was removed and a show-cause notice issued, which the court appreciated.

इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट ने उत्तर प्रदेश के DGP को एक सर्कुलर जारी करने का निर्देश दिया है जिसमें कहा गया है कि कोर्ट के आदेशों की तामील करने वाले सरकारी वकीलों से बदतमीजी करना कोर्ट की अवमानना है। यह निर्देश आजमगढ़ SSP के एक जनसंपर्क अधिकारी द्वारा एक अतिरिक्त सरकारी वकील से बदतमीजी करने के बाद आया। कोर्ट ने PRO को शाम 5 बजे तक हिरासत में रखने का आदेश दिया। बेंच ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि AGAs कोर्ट के अधिकारी होते हैं और उनका अनादर करना अवमानना है। SSP ने कोर्ट को सूचित किया कि PRO को हटा दिया गया है और एक कारण बताओ नोटिस जारी किया गया है, जिसकी कोर्ट ने सराहना की।
