On September 11, 2001, a six-month-old baby named Kareena in Houston needed a life-saving liver transplant. The donor organ was 800 miles away in Nashville, but all civilian flights were grounded due to the 9/11 attacks. A C-130 cargo plane operated by the Tennessee Air National Guard ultimately transported the organ to Houston. Soldiers then delivered it to Texas Children's Hospital, where doctors successfully performed the transplant, saving the infant's life amidst national chaos.
