No Coal Shortage Despite High Demand: Minister

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy stated there is no coal shortage in India, despite increased thermal power demand and monsoon-related mining disruptions. He clarified that supplies are being maintained through rakes and road transport. Reddy explained that thermal power demand rose by approximately 12-15 percent, while hydropower generation declined and monsoon conditions impacted coal mining. He assured that these temporary disruptions do not indicate a shortage and the overall situation remains normal and stable.

केंद्रीय मंत्री जी किशन रेड्डी ने कहा कि भारत में कोयले की कोई कमी नहीं है, भले ही थर्मल पावर की मांग बढ़ गई हो और मानसून के कारण खनन में दिक्कतें आई हों। उन्होंने साफ किया कि रेक और सड़क परिवहन से सप्लाई जारी है। रेड्डी ने बताया कि थर्मल पावर की मांग करीब 12-15 प्रतिशत बढ़ी है, जबकि पनबिजली उत्पादन घटा है और मानसून की वजह से कोयला खनन प्रभावित हुआ है। उन्होंने भरोसा दिलाया कि ये अस्थायी दिक्कतें कमी का संकेत नहीं हैं और कुल मिलाकर स्थिति सामान्य और स्थिर बनी हुई है।
