NIA to Probe Mid-Air Cockpit Attack on flydubai Captain Smit Machchhar

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered a case to investigate a mid-air attack on Captain Smit Machchhar aboard a flydubai flight last month. The incident occurred on September 30, when the pilot was reportedly stabbed and seriously injured by his co-pilot in the cockpit. The flight was en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv. Officials cited an apparent attempt to hijack the aircraft or cause it to crash. The case has been filed under the Anti-Hijacking Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
