Bihar Boat Capsize: Overloaded, Dilapidated Vessel Killed 13 Minors

A boat that capsized in Bihar's Vaishali district, resulting in the deaths of 13 minors, was dilapidated with a hole and overloaded, police confirmed. The country-made boat, reportedly only capable of carrying five people, violated rules by sailing after sunset, with water entering through a hole in its deck. Authorities have issued showcause notices to local officials and alerted other districts about unsafe boat operations. Compensation of ₹4 lakh has been provided to each affected family, and an inquiry committee has been formed to investigate the tragic incident.

बिहार के वैशाली जिले में पलटी नाव जर्जर हालत में थी, उसमें छेद था और वह क्षमता से ज़्यादा भरी हुई थी, जिससे 13 नाबालिगों की मौत हो गई, यह बात पुलिस ने कन्फर्म की है। यह देसी नाव, जो कथित तौर पर सिर्फ़ पाँच लोगों के बैठने लायक थी, सूर्यास्त के बाद चलने के नियमों का उल्लंघन कर रही थी, और उसके डेक में बने छेद से पानी अंदर आ रहा था। अधिकारियों ने स्थानीय अधिकारियों को कारण बताओ नोटिस जारी किए हैं और असुरक्षित नाव संचालन के बारे में दूसरे जिलों को भी आगाह किया है।
