Election Duty Lapses in Agra: 6 Officers Suspended, 21 Others Face Action

The Election Commission of India has ordered the suspension of six officers for serious negligence during the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council biennial elections in Agra. The affected officers were deployed at polling stations 21 and 26. The commission cited a lack of effective supervision and control within and around the polling centers as grounds for the action. Additionally, disciplinary proceedings will be initiated against 21 other polling and police personnel based on a commissioner's report.

भारत के चुनाव आयोग ने आगरा में उत्तर प्रदेश विधान परिषद द्विवार्षिक चुनावों के दौरान गंभीर लापरवाही के लिए छह अधिकारियों को निलंबित करने का आदेश दिया है। प्रभावित अधिकारियों को मतदान केंद्र 21 और 26 पर तैनात किया गया था। आयोग ने मतदान केंद्रों के अंदर और आसपास प्रभावी पर्यवेक्षण और नियंत्रण की कमी को कार्रवाई का आधार बताया। इसके अतिरिक्त, एक आयुक्त की रिपोर्ट के आधार पर 21 अन्य मतदान और पुलिस कर्मियों के खिलाफ अनुशासनात्मक कार्यवाही शुरू की जाएगी।
