Times of India · india
Six snake charmers were apprehended by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) on the Amritsar-Purnia Court Janseva Express for allegedly harassing passengers. The group turned a general coach into a travelling show, displaying snakes and demanding money. A RailMadad complaint prompted the RPF intervention. The train reached Dighwara station where the six individuals were arrested and handed over to the forest department. The snake charmers, who provided inconsistent identities, were subsequently sent to jail. Such activities are prohibited on trains due to passenger safety and wildlife protection concerns.
