Egyptian authorities have arrested six journalists from the independent media outlet 'Matsadash', accusing them of belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood and spreading false news. The outlet, which began eight years ago as a fact-checking platform and now conducts investigative reporting, had two editors previously arrested in 2023 and released without charge. Over 80 international and regional human rights organizations have condemned the mass arrests and demanded the journalists' immediate release. Egypt's Interior Ministry stated 'Matsadash' operates as an unlicensed page run by a fugitive member of the Muslim Brotherhood abroad.

मिस्र के अधिकारियों ने स्वतंत्र मीडिया आउटलेट 'मत्सदश' के छह पत्रकारों को गिरफ़्तार किया है। उन पर मुस्लिम ब्रदरहुड से जुड़े होने और झूठी ख़बरें फैलाने का आरोप है। यह आउटलेट आठ साल पहले एक फैक्ट-चेकिंग प्लेटफ़ॉर्म के तौर पर शुरू हुआ था और अब खोजी रिपोर्टिंग करता है। 2023 में इसके दो संपादकों को पहले गिरफ़्तार किया गया था और बिना किसी आरोप के रिहा कर दिया गया था। 80 से ज़्यादा अंतरराष्ट्रीय और क्षेत्रीय मानवाधिकार संगठनों ने बड़े पैमाने पर हुई इन गिरफ़्तारियों की निंदा की है और पत्रकारों की तत्काल रिहाई की मांग की है।
