Tamil Nadu Faces Unscheduled Power Cuts Amidst Heat

Tamil Nadu is experiencing unscheduled power cuts due to searing heat conditions in September, extending the summer season. Power demand has risen to 20,500 MW, significantly higher than last year's 16,000-17,000 MW. This shortage of over 3,000 MW has forced the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited to purchase an additional 2,000 MW. Chennai's power demand also saw an increase, reaching 4,200-4,500 MW compared to the usual 3,500-3,800 MW for this time of year.

तमिलनाडु में सितंबर में भी गर्मी का प्रकोप जारी है, जिससे अचानक बिजली कटौती हो रही है। बिजली की मांग बढ़कर 20,500 MW हो गई है, जो पिछले साल के 16,000-17,000 MW से काफी ज्यादा है। इस 3,000 MW से अधिक की कमी के कारण तमिलनाडु पावर डिस्ट्रीब्यूशन कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेड को अतिरिक्त 2,000 MW खरीदना पड़ रहा है। चेन्नई में भी बिजली की मांग बढ़ी है।
