Small and medium-sized Indian pharmaceutical companies are experiencing a transfer of orders from China as Western buyers diversify their supply chains. This shift is particularly notable for intermediate products. While India offers cost advantages in raw materials and labor, some companies caution that China remains competitive on pricing and that India still relies on China for raw materials. Around 40 Indian companies are participating in CPhI Worldwide, a major global business platform for the pharmaceutical industry, showcasing their capabilities.
