Married Daughter Can Get Compassionate Job, Rules Telangana High Court

The Telangana High Court has ruled that a married daughter cannot be denied compassionate appointment solely based on her marital status. The court directed Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) to provide a job to Kumbam Jyothi, whose father was an assistant lineman and died in 2014. Jyothi's application was initially rejected by the discom because she was married. The court found this discriminatory, stating that an otherwise eligible woman should not be excluded from consideration. This decision ends a 12-year legal battle for Jyothi.

तेलंगाना हाई कोर्ट ने फैसला सुनाया है कि विवाहित होने के आधार पर किसी बेटी को अनुकंपा नियुक्ति से वंचित नहीं किया जा सकता। कोर्ट ने तेलंगाना सदर्न पावर डिस्ट्रीब्यूशन कंपनी लिमिटेड (TGSPDCL) को कुंबम ज्योति को नौकरी देने का निर्देश दिया, जिनके पिता एक सहायक लाइनमैन थे और 2014 में उनकी मृत्यु हो गई थी। ज्योति के आवेदन को शुरू में डिस्कॉम ने इसलिए खारिज कर दिया था क्योंकि वह विवाहित थीं। कोर्ट ने इसे भेदभावपूर्ण पाया और कहा कि अन्यथा योग्य महिला को विचार से बाहर नहीं रखा जाना चाहिए। इस फैसले से ज्योति के लिए 12 साल की कानूनी लड़ाई का अंत हो गया है।
