The Rajasthan High Court has cancelled two FIRs registered against Independent MLA Ganesh Raj Bansal and others. The case involved land title leases allegedly issued based on forged documents dating back to October 2003. Bansal was arrested ahead of local body polls, with his supporters alleging the action was politically motivated to influence the chairperson election. The court accepted the argument of an inordinate delay in registering the criminal case, which was filed just before the elections.

राजस्थान हाईकोर्ट ने निर्दलीय विधायक गणेश राज बंसल और अन्य के खिलाफ दर्ज दो FIR रद्द कर दी हैं। मामला अक्टूबर 2003 से जुड़ी जाली दस्तावेज़ों के आधार पर कथित तौर पर जारी भूमि पट्टे से जुड़ा था। बंसल को स्थानीय निकाय चुनावों से ठीक पहले गिरफ्तार किया गया था, उनके समर्थकों ने आरोप लगाया कि यह कार्रवाई अध्यक्ष चुनाव को प्रभावित करने के लिए राजनीतिक रूप से प्रेरित थी। अदालत ने आपराधिक मामला दर्ज करने में अत्यधिक देरी के तर्क को स्वीकार कर लिया, जो चुनावों से ठीक पहले दायर किया गया था।
