CPI(M) asks Tamil Nadu govt to boycott Union panel on demographic changes

The CPI(M) has urged the Tamil Nadu government to boycott the High-Level Committee on Demographic Changes formed by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. CPI(M) State secretary P. Shanmugam stated that the committee's questionnaire exposes an anti-minority agenda of the RSS and BJP. The party alleged that setting up this extra-legal committee to gather data while the official Census is pending demonstrates the BJP's malicious intent.

सीपीआई(एम) ने तमिलनाडु सरकार से गृह मंत्रालय द्वारा गठित जनसांख्यिकीय परिवर्तनों पर उच्च-स्तरीय समिति का बहिष्कार करने का आग्रह किया है। सीपीआई(एम) के राज्य सचिव पी. शनमुगम ने कहा कि समिति का प्रश्नावली आरएसएस और बीजेपी के अल्पसंख्यक-विरोधी एजेंडे को उजागर करती है। पार्टी ने आरोप लगाया कि आधिकारिक जनगणना लंबित रहते हुए डेटा एकत्र करने के लिए इस अतिरिक्त-कानूनी समिति का गठन बीजेपी के दुर्भावनापूर्ण इरादे को दर्शाता है।
