Ahead of Diwali, the East Singhbhum district administration has issued temporary trade licences for 432 makeshift firecracker shops across 12 designated open spaces in Jamshedpur, allowing regulated sales from November 6 to 8. Strict norms are in place, including a ban on firecrackers exceeding 125 decibels and a stock limit of 25 kg per shop. Violations will lead to licence cancellation and action under the Air Act. In Daltonganj, 44 licensed outlets are permitted, an increase from last year, with safety protocols to be followed.
