Bihar Floods Impact Millions Despite Rainfall Deficit

Over 5 million people in 15 Bihar districts are affected by severe floods, despite the state experiencing a 35% rainfall deficit. Experts attribute this to intense late-monsoon rainfall, saturated soils, and degraded catchments. Farmers have lost crops and homes, leading to migration of young people for work. Rivers like the Ganga, Kosi, and Budhi Gandak are flowing above danger levels, inundating villages and displacing residents.

बिहार के 15 जिलों में 50 लाख से ज़्यादा लोग भयानक बाढ़ से जूझ रहे हैं। हैरानी की बात ये है कि राज्य में बारिश की कमी 35% है। एक्सपर्ट्स का कहना है कि देर से हुई ज़ोरदार बारिश, ज़मीन का पानी से लबालब होना और ख़राब कैचमेंट एरिया इसकी वजह हैं। किसानों की फसलें और घर तबाह हो गए हैं, जिससे युवा काम की तलाश में पलायन कर रहे हैं।
