Mamata Banerjee Slams Govt Over CJP Leaders' Custody Extension

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused the government of "state-sponsored terrorism" and "police-sponsored atrocities" following the extension of judicial custody for Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka. Their custody was extended by two days in connection with alleged trespassing at Jantar Mantar. Banerjee criticized the authorities for deliberately extending their detention, comparing the situation to the struggle against British colonial rule. She asserted that such actions against democracy and young protesters would not last, emphasizing that public resistance would eventually prevail.

पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी (CJP) के नेताओं सौरव दास और आशुतोष रांका की न्यायिक हिरासत दो दिनों के लिए बढ़ाए जाने के बाद सरकार पर "राज्य-प्रायोजित आतंकवाद" और "पुलिस-प्रायोजित अत्याचार" का आरोप लगाया है। यह हिरासत जंतर-मंतर में कथित घुसपैठ के संबंध में बढ़ाई गई थी। बनर्जी ने अधिकारियों की जानबूझकर उनकी हिरासत बढ़ाने की आलोचना की और इसकी तुलना ब्रिटिश औपनिवेशिक शासन के खिलाफ संघर्ष से की। उन्होंने जोर देकर कहा कि लोकतंत्र और युवा प्रदर्शनकारियों के खिलाफ इस तरह की कार्रवाई लंबे समय तक नहीं चलेगी और अंततः जनता का प्रतिरोध ही प्रबल होगा।
