Delhi Court Acquits Four in 20-Year-Old Woman's Dowry Death Case

A Delhi court has acquitted a man, his parents, and a relative of dowry death and abetment of suicide charges in connection with the death of a 20-year-old woman. The court found that the prosecution failed to prove that the woman was subjected to dowry-related cruelty soon before her death or that the accused instigated her suicide. The woman was found hanging at her parental home in August 2018, after marrying in November 2016. Her mother turned hostile, and her father gave inconsistent statements regarding alleged dowry demands and cruelty.
