The death toll from a Russian attack on a humanitarian aid distribution centre in Ukraine's Zaporizhia region has risen to at least 53 people, making it one of the deadliest Russian attacks this year. The strike on the village of Komyshuvakha occurred on Monday, with rescuers recovering more bodies from the rubble over several days. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that a second wave of bombs targeted an underground shelter where civilians had taken cover. The UN human rights mission in Ukraine indicated the attack likely breached international law.
