Andhra Pradesh Boy Dies Suspected Rabies Symptoms

A two-year-old boy in Andhra Pradesh's Palnadu district has died with symptoms clinically suspected to be rabies. His parents reported that a stray dog had licked a wound on his body days prior. Health officials stated there is no laboratory evidence to confirm rabies as the cause of death, suggesting encephalitis as a possible contributing factor. While dog saliva contact with broken skin can pose a rabies risk, it is generally lower than a bite. A local survey found no other recent dog attack cases in the village.

आंध्र प्रदेश के पालनाडु जिले में दो साल के बच्चे की मौत संदिग्ध रेबीज के लक्षणों से हुई है। उसके माता-पिता ने बताया कि कुछ दिन पहले एक आवारा कुत्ते ने उसके घाव को चाट लिया था। स्वास्थ्य अधिकारियों का कहना है कि मौत का कारण रेबीज है, इसकी पुष्टि के लिए कोई लैब रिपोर्ट नहीं है। एन्सेफलाइटिस भी एक वजह हो सकती है। कुत्ते की लार से घाव में संक्रमण का खतरा कम होता है, पर होता है।
