The United States is increasingly becoming India's primary destination for foreign direct investment, potentially surpassing Singapore. Recent investment commitments from India to the US total over $330 billion, including significant projects by Essar Group and Reliance Industries. In the past decade, the US has consistently accounted for over 10% of India's outward FDI, peaking at around 19% in 2021-22. While Singapore remained the top destination in 2025-26, the gap narrowed considerably, indicating a significant shift in investment flows.
