Former India opener Wasim Jaffer has expressed surprise and questioned young batter Yashasvi Jaiswal's decision to take up wicket-keeping at the age of 24. Jaffer believes wicket-keeping is a demanding skill that is difficult to develop without childhood training and suggested Jaiswal should focus on his batting. He noted the presence of established wicket-keepers like Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, and Rishabh Pant. Jaffer urged Jaiswal to concentrate on his primary strength ahead of the Ranji Trophy and the upcoming tour of New Zealand.
