CCI: Zomato Fees Not Abuse of Dominance

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has ruled that Zomato's platform fees, delivery charges, and restaurant commissions do not amount to an abuse of dominance. The regulatory body stated these charges are for legitimate services provided by the food delivery platform. This decision means Zomato's current pricing and commission structures are deemed compliant with competition laws, indicating no anti-competitive practices are being.

भारतीय प्रतिस्पर्धा आयोग (CCI) ने फैसला सुनाया है कि Zomato की प्लेटफॉर्म फीस, डिलीवरी चार्ज और रेस्टोरेंट कमीशन डोमिनेंस का दुरुपयोग नहीं हैं। CCI ने कहा कि ये शुल्क फूड डिलीवरी प्लेटफॉर्म द्वारा दी जाने वाली सेवाओं के लिए हैं। इस फैसले से Zomato की वर्तमान मूल्य निर्धारण और कमीशन संरचनाएं प्रतिस्पर्धा कानूनों के अनुरूप मानी गई हैं, जिसका अर्थ है कि कोई भी अनुचित व्यापारिक प्रथा नहीं हो रही है।
