Bengaluru Mutt Head Arrested Over Sexual Exploitation Allegations

The 40-year-old head of the Hunasamaranahalli Mutt on the outskirts of Bengaluru has been arrested following a complaint from a 25-year-old woman. The woman accused Dayananda, also known as Nanjeshwara Shivacharya Swamy, of sexual exploitation and death threats. Police registered a case under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and are verifying audio and video evidence provided by the victim. The mutt is associated with the Veerashaiva Lingayat community's prominent religious centres.

बेंगलुरु के बाहरी इलाके में स्थित हुनासमरणहल्ली मठ के 40 वर्षीय प्रमुख को 25 वर्षीय महिला की शिकायत के बाद गिरफ्तार किया गया है। महिला ने स्वामीजी, जिन्हें नंजेश्वर शिवचार्य स्वामी के नाम से भी जाना जाता है, पर यौन शोषण और जान से मारने की धमकी देने का आरोप लगाया है। पुलिस ने पीड़ित द्वारा प्रदान किए गए ऑडियो और वीडियो सबूतों को सत्यापित करते हुए भारतीय न्याय संहिता की धाराओं के तहत मामला दर्ज किया है। यह मठ वीरशैव लिंगायत समुदाय के प्रमुख धार्मिक केंद्रों से जुड़ा है।
