BJP Leader Sunil Jakhar Accuses Congress of Targeting Institutions
Times of India · politics
Former Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar has accused the Congress of targeting constitutional institutions like the Election Commission, stating the party has lost its national support. He praised Punjab's Chief Electoral Officer for completing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls without Congress objections. Jakhar highlighted that booth-level agents from various parties agreed to the process, and no eligible voter claimed wrongful deletion. He criticized opposition parties for protesting the exercise, which he described as a uniform, nationwide procedure for updating voter lists.
