WhatsApp AI Chats Not End-to-End Encrypted, Company Clarifies

WhatsApp has clarified that chats with AI assistants on its platform are not end-to-end encrypted, unlike personal conversations. While messages with Meta AI can only be read by the user and the AI, they may be used to improve AI models. Users are advised not to share sensitive information with Meta AI. Chats with third-party AI agents, though securely delivered, are also not considered end-to-end encrypted by WhatsApp. The platform aims to distinguish AI conversations from private messages for user clarity.
