SC: Consumer forums not rehabilitation centres

The Supreme Court has ruled that consumer forums should not be treated as mere rehabilitation centres for retired individuals. The apex court emphasized that these forums are crucial for dispensing justice to consumers and should function with efficiency and purpose. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा है कि कंज्यूमर फोरम को सिर्फ रिटायर लोगों के लिए खाली समय बिताने की जगह नहीं समझना चाहिए। कोर्ट ने जोर दिया कि ये फोरम ग्राहकों को न्याय दिलाने के लिए बहुत ज़रूरी हैं और इन्हें पूरी क्षमता और उद्देश्य के साथ काम करना चाहिए। इस फैसले से ग्राहकों की शिकायतों का जल्दी और ठीक से समाधान होगा, जिससे कंज्यूमर डिस्प्यूट सिस्टम मजबूत होगा।
