Goa's Mandovi River Polluted With Faecal Coliform Beyond Limits

Goa's Mandovi River has been found to have faecal coliform levels significantly exceeding permissible limits at all 22 sampling locations. The Goa State Pollution Control Board submitted an interim report to the Bombay High Court, revealing that numbers ranged from 130 to 540 MPN/100 ml during high tide and 130 to 940 MPN/100 mL during low tide. The permissible limit according to Central Pollution Control Board norms is 100 MPN/100ml.

गोवा की मांडवी नदी में 22 जगहों पर फ़ीकल कोलीफ़ॉर्म की मात्रा तय सीमा से बहुत ज़्यादा पाई गई है। गोवा स्टेट पॉल्यूशन कंट्रोल बोर्ड ने बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट में एक अंतरिम रिपोर्ट सौंपी है। इसमें बताया गया है कि हाई टाइड के दौरान यह मात्रा 130 से 540 MPN/100 ml और लो टाइड के दौरान 130 से 940 MPN/100 mL तक थी। सेंट्रल पॉल्यूशन कंट्रोल बोर्ड के नियमों के मुताबिक, यह सीमा 100 MPN/100ml है।
