CPM Alleges Governments Lack Interest in Pocso Case

CPM state secretary P Shanmugam has alleged that neither the previous DMK government nor the current TVK government has shown genuine interest in investigating the Pocso case against granite baron R Veeramani. He stated that the TVK government was forced to act and accused them of trying to create a false impression of voluntary action. Shanmugam claimed the police report was intended to close the case, and it was the Pocso court judge who revived it.

सीपीएम के राज्य सचिव पी. शनमुगम ने आरोप लगाया है कि न तो पिछली DMK सरकार और न ही मौजूदा TVK सरकार ने ग्रेनाइट कारोबारी आर. वीरमणि के खिलाफ Pocso मामले की जांच में सच्ची दिलचस्पी दिखाई है। उन्होंने कहा कि TVK सरकार को कार्रवाई करने के लिए मजबूर किया गया और उन पर स्वेच्छा से कार्रवाई का झूठा आभास पैदा करने का आरोप लगाया। शनमुगम का दावा है कि पुलिस रिपोर्ट का मकसद मामले को बंद करना था, और Pocso अदालत के न्यायाधीश ने ही इसे फिर से खोला।
