Tension gripped Sanvordem on Thursday as local truck drivers initiated a protest, halting the ore transportation by a mining firm. The drivers are demanding that the firm cease using trucks from outside the village for its operations. Mining ore transportation had recently resumed in Sanvordem, providing business to local trucks after a prolonged period. However, the protesters claim the firm subsequently brought in trucks from beyond Sanvordem, sparking the current agitation.
