Ancient Vijayanagara inscription found in Andhra Pradesh

An ancient stone inscription from 1363 AD has been discovered at the Nagalingeshwara Temple on Penukonda hill in Andhra Pradesh's Sri Sathya Sai district. The epigraph, dating to Emperor Bukka Raya I's reign, reveals the shrine was commissioned by the empire's Prime Minister, Anantharasu Chikka Odeyar. This discovery sheds light on a 662-year-old chapter of Vijayanagara history, with the inscription detailing the consecration of the Shiva Linga and the construction of a sacred pond.

आंध्र प्रदेश में प्राचीन विजयनगर शिलालेख मिला

आंध्र प्रदेश के श्री सत्य साई जिले में पेनुकोंडा पहाड़ी पर स्थित नागलिंगेश्वर मंदिर में 1363 ईस्वी का एक प्राचीन शिलालेख मिला है। यह शिलालेख सम्राट बुक्का राय प्रथम के शासनकाल का है और बताता है कि मंदिर का निर्माण विजयनगर साम्राज्य के प्रधानमंत्री अनंथरसु चिक्का ओडेयर ने करवाया था। इस खोज से विजयनगर इतिहास के 662 साल पुराने अध्याय पर प्रकाश पड़ा है। शिलालेख में शिव लिंग की स्थापना और एक पवित्र तालाब के निर्माण का भी जिक्र है।
