Congress Alleges RSS-BJP Agenda Behind Census 2027 Enumerator Changes

The Congress party has accused the BJP-led central government of pursuing a political agenda with changes to the Census 2027 enumerator pool. The government amended rules to allow teachers from private aided and unaided institutions, among others, to be appointed as census officers. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh alleged this move could compromise the census credibility and is linked to an RSS training camp and a committee on demographic changes. He claimed the expansion is a "Rozgar Guarantee Yojana for thousands of RSS/BJP workers," potentially further contaminating the exercise.
