Transport Contractor Arrested for Diverting Sabarimala Ghee Worth Crores

VACB has arrested transport contractor S S Binu for allegedly selling 11,040 kg of ghee intended for the Sabarimala pilgrimage to two agencies in Tamil Nadu. This is the first arrest in a case investigating alleged irregularities in ghee procurement and quality, which caused an estimated loss of Rs 2.5 crore to the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB). Binu reportedly diverted the ghee for financial gain, using forged documents to bypass checkposts.
