Delhi Parks to Get Gunmen, CCTVs After Aastha Kunj Gang-Rape Incident

Following an alleged gang-rape at Aastha Kunj Park, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is implementing a major security upgrade across its 736 parks. This includes deploying gunmen at 134 high-risk parks and introducing night patrolling at 245 major parks. The DDA's first-ever safety audit revealed significant security gaps, prompting the installation of CCTVs in 323 additional parks and improved lighting and boundary repairs. Bike patrolling has also commenced in high-risk areas, with Delhi Police set to conduct additional patrols.
