Supreme Court Reserves Verdict on ED Plea Against Former Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee

The Supreme Court has reserved its verdict on an ED plea concerning alleged obstruction during raids on I-PAC offices in West Bengal. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal argued that since Mamata Banerjee is no longer the Chief Minister and the state government is now led by a different party, the court's intervention might be unnecessary. Sibal contended that the current government is free to investigate any matter independently.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने पश्चिम बंगाल में आई-पैक (I-PAC) ऑफिसों पर छापेमारी के दौरान कथित तौर पर बाधा डालने से संबंधित ईडी (ED) की याचिका पर अपना फैसला सुरक्षित रख लिया है। वरिष्ठ वकील कपिल सिब्बल ने दलील दी कि चूंकि ममता बनर्जी अब मुख्यमंत्री नहीं हैं और राज्य सरकार का नेतृत्व अब एक अलग पार्टी कर रही है, इसलिए अदालत का हस्तक्षेप अनावश्यक हो सकता है। सिब्बल ने तर्क दिया कि वर्तमान सरकार किसी भी मामले की स्वतंत्र रूप से जांच करने के लिए स्वतंत्र है।
