Govt Forms Panel to Review Banking Sector, Recommend Reforms for Global Competitiveness

The Union government has established a high-level committee to review India's banking sector and propose reforms. This initiative, announced in the Union Budget, aims to enhance global competitiveness, inclusivity, and resilience in banking by 2047. Headed by Suresh N Patel, the committee will examine banking practices, regulatory frameworks, capital requirements for financial institutions, and the priority sector lending framework. It will also develop a roadmap for artificial intelligence and digital innovation within the banking industry.

केंद्र सरकार ने भारत के बैंकिंग क्षेत्र की समीक्षा करने और सुधारों का प्रस्ताव देने के लिए एक उच्च-स्तरीय समिति का गठन किया है। केंद्रीय बजट में की गई इस पहल का उद्देश्य 2047 तक बैंकिंग में वैश्विक प्रतिस्पर्धा, समावेशिता और लचीलापन बढ़ाना है। सुरेश एन पटेल की अध्यक्षता वाली समिति बैंकिंग प्रथाओं, नियामक ढांचे, वित्तीय संस्थानों के लिए पूंजी आवश्यकताओं और प्राथमिकता क्षेत्र ऋण ढांचे की जांच करेगी। यह बैंकिंग उद्योग के भीतर कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता और डिजिटल नवाचार के लिए एक रोडमैप भी विकसित करेगी।
