The Supreme Court has ruled that internet access is a fundamental right for all, including children, linking it to Articles 21 and 19(1)(a) of the Constitution. The court refused to support a complete ban on internet or social media use for children, stating that the focus should be on removing harmful content and holding offenders accountable. Instead of restricting access, the court suggested measures like child-friendly modes, parental consent, and stricter action against objectionable material.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने फैसला सुनाया है कि इंटरनेट का इस्तेमाल सभी के लिए, बच्चों सहित, एक मौलिक अधिकार है। इसे संविधान के अनुच्छेद 21 और 19(1)(a) से जोड़ा गया है। कोर्ट ने बच्चों के लिए इंटरनेट या सोशल मीडिया के इस्तेमाल पर पूरी तरह से रोक लगाने का समर्थन नहीं किया। कोर्ट ने कहा कि ध्यान हानिकारक सामग्री को हटाने और अपराधियों को जवाबदेह ठहराने पर होना चाहिए। पहुँच को प्रतिबंधित करने के बजाय, कोर्ट ने बाल-अनुकूल मोड, माता-पिता की सहमति और आपत्तिजनक सामग्री के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई जैसे उपायों का सुझाव दिया।
