Uttar Pradesh Man Strangles Sister to Death with Dupatta Over Honour

A man in Uttar Pradesh allegedly strangled his 27-year-old sister to death with her dupatta after finding an unrelated youth in her room at 3:30 am. The accused, Ashish Kumar, reportedly feared the incident would bring disgrace to the family. Police registered a murder case on October 16 following a complaint by the victim's uncle and arrested Kumar the same day. The victim, Komal, worked as a village panchayat assistant. The accused has been produced before a court.

उत्तर प्रदेश में एक भाई ने कथित तौर पर अपनी 27 वर्षीय बहन को उसके दुपट्टे से गला घोंटकर मार डाला, जब उसने सुबह 3:30 बजे कमरे में एक अनजान युवक को देखा। आरोपी आशीष कुमार को डर था कि इस घटना से परिवार की बदनामी होगी। पीड़ित के चाचा की शिकायत पर 16 अक्टूबर को पुलिस ने हत्या का मामला दर्ज किया और उसी दिन कुमार को गिरफ्तार कर लिया। पीड़ित कोमल गांव पंचायत सहायक के तौर पर काम करती थी। आरोपी को अदालत में पेश किया गया है।
