Forester Rajhans, Biologist Hushangabadkar Win Award

Forester Smita Rajhans and wildlife biologist Prajakta Hushangabadkar have been awarded the 'Jungle Belles Women of the Wild Award – 2026' for their significant contributions to wildlife conservation. The award, instituted by wildlife enthusiasts Hemangi Vartak and Sanjay Deshpande, recognizes women's efforts in this field. Rajhans has worked on leopard-human conflict and cub rehabilitation, while Hushangabadkar focuses on carnivore conservation and research. The award ceremony will be held in Pune as part of Wildlife Week celebrations.

वन रक्षक स्मिता राजहंस और वन्यजीव जीवविज्ञानी प्रजक्ता हुशंगाबादकर को वन्यजीव संरक्षण में उनके महत्वपूर्ण योगदान के लिए 'जंगल बेल्स वुमन ऑफ द वाइल्ड अवार्ड – 2026' से सम्मानित किया गया है। यह पुरस्कार, जिसे वन्यजीव उत्साही हेमांगी वर्तक और संजय देशपांडे ने स्थापित किया है, इस क्षेत्र में महिलाओं के प्रयासों को मान्यता देता है। राजहंस ने तेंदुआ-मानव संघर्ष और शावक पुनर्वास पर काम किया है, जबकि हुशंगाबादकर मांसाहारी जीवों के संरक्षण और अनुसंधान पर ध्यान केंद्रित करती हैं। यह पुरस्कार समारोह वाइल्डलाइफ वीक समारोह के हिस्से के रूप में पुणे में आयोजित किया जाएगा।
