The fish was auctioned at a local fishing harbour for Rs 80,000, with a trader from Narasapuram making the highest bid. This rare catch provided fishermen with substantial additional income beyond their usual earnings. The high price is attributed to the fish's rarity, market demand, and the commercial value of certain body parts, particularly its swim bladder.

आंध्र प्रदेश के कोनासीमा जिले के मछुआरों ने 24 किलोग्राम की दुर्लभ कचिडी मछली पकड़कर अच्छी खासी कमाई की है। इस मछली की नीलामी स्थानीय मछली बंदरगाह पर 80,000 रुपये में हुई, जिसमें नरसपुरम के एक व्यापारी ने सबसे ऊंची बोली लगाई। इस दुर्लभ पकड़ से मछुआरों को उनकी सामान्य कमाई से काफी अधिक अतिरिक्त आय हुई। इतनी ऊंची कीमत मछली की दुर्लभता, बाजार की मांग और कुछ खास अंगों, खासकर उसके स्विम ब्लैडर के व्यावसायिक मूल्य के कारण है।
